Cutting my teeth in the Energy business

After earning a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business, I began my career as a landman in the energy industry, buying right of ways for pipeline companies and leasing mineral rights to create drilling prospects.

Identifying a dilemma

While working in the industry, I realized that many land and mineral owners lacked knowledge about the industry and often suffered financial losses due to this lack of knowledge.

Playing a liaison’s role

As an independent contractor, I played a liaison’s role between the land and mineral owners and the companies who had interest in their property.

Trusting instinct over money

Realizing that my heart was with the land and mineral owners, I formed Down-Right Royalties as a way to provide them with unparalleled service in the industry.

A guiding principle

Throughout my life, my grandfather's wise words have remained a guiding principle: "Reputation takes a lifetime to build and is one bad decision away from ruin; You only get one name in this life, don’t tarnish it."

Alex received a bachelor’s degree in Agri-Business and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration from Tarleton University. As a longtime family friend with a similar background, and sharing the same convictions, Alex was brought on to build relationships with owners and spread our message.
